Hiroshi Ishii

比如在显示器后面做交互的Jinha Lee(三星和微软正在研发)

September 23

Lecture: Tangible History (30 min)

Introduction of TUI #2 (by Hiroshi Ishii) ▶

Readings:

Doug Engelbart (The Economist)

Computer Visionary Who Invented the Mouse (New York Times)

1968 Demo of NLS by Doug Engelbart

“The Computer for the 21st Century” by Mark Weiser

Workshop: Electronics Prototyping Workshop (lead by Philipp) (120 Minutes)

Basic hands on introduction to the Arduino microcontroller and its IDE. The TA’s will assign 6 groups for the workshop. We are aware that we have students in the class that are experts at electronics and programming and students that don’t have any experience with neither. Therefore each group will have at least one expert and you are supposed to learn from each other. Brainstorm ideas together then try to assign tasks within your group(coding, building, presenting … ) to finish the project within class time .

Compared to last class, where we wanted you to come up with ideas for existing everyday objects, this time you will have to come up with ideas for a generic object that can potentially be many things. Also, you will have to make it work and present it to the class! We will explain the exact task in class on Tuesday.

Outside of class this week we want you to form groups for the 1st assignment. You can stick with the group you were assigned to or change group. We will explain Assignment 1 in class.

Ardunio

音乐素材的话可以在freesound.com找到。

Practice,Practice,Practice!
